Uncle Patrick came from the crowd and stepped up on a stage that was surrounded by tall candle-lit vases and small votive candles. Bill Hamilton Designs put together the ceremony site with minimal but on-point candles, just as Kellie envisioned.
Uncle Patrick took his place on stage and announced the beginning of the seemingly impromptu ceremony.
Gasps and scattered applause could be heard from the crowd as they realized Uncle Patrick was to officiant the ceremony taking place right there in the ballroom.
Wayne then appeared from the wings to join Uncle Patrick on stage as an epic soundtrack begun under the continued narrative.
“Enters a man. Confident and determined. Content in his life. Unassuming in affairs of the heart. Asking for little, searching for much. The ‘eyes’ of love appeared closed. Closed to the ideal and the chance to enjoy a love that he would call ‘THE’ love. Then one faithful June day, that Love would find his heart…”
A slight transition in lighting and sound would give way to the entrance of Kellie being escorted by her handsome father Harry. The audience of friends and family followed the lighting and audio cues themselves to turn heads toward the door. More so, Wayne’s lifted head and wide eyes were an obvious cue that his bride had arrived.
“Enters a woman.
A woman with a great love in her heart. A love that has forever been in her heart. Tender and delicate, yet deep and powerful. Not to be given freely, this love remained pure, innocent and virtuous. For one day she would find a partner worthy to share in the glory of this love.
Today is that day. The man and woman to be joined in the glory of love to build their future together. And that future.. starts now.”
Wayne came down from the stage to the ground floor to meet his bride and her father Harry. Wayne shook Harry’s hand and shared a hug before taking Kellie’s hand and leading up the stairs of the stage to join Uncle Patrick. The ceremony continued with a personalized narrative dedicated to Wayne and Kellie. Uncle Patrick was stellar.
“Family and friends. Love has welcomed you on this beautiful day to take part in this very special occasion for this truly amazing couple, Kellie Lynn Adamczak and Wayne Anthony Kinney.
In the spirit of their engagement, their wedding day, their marriage and their lives will be filled with wonderment, joy and surprises. Today, I stand before you as one of those surprises: Ordained to officiate in Kellie and Wayne’s union in holy matrimony.
Today, March 7th 2015 marks a most joyous and blessed day. Kellie and Wayne will vow their love, devotion and loyalty to each other. Solemn vows witnessed by all. These vows are not only between them and don’t just include them. Who brings Kellie here today to be married?”
A proud response was heard from Kellie’s father Harry, “My wife and I.” Uncle Patrick would even invite the audience to give a blessing on the marriage.
“As Kellie and Wayne are joined as one, so are two families, the Adamczak and Kinney families.
Two families that will share in the support and care of this marriage. Two families that will celebrate this marriage with friendship, love, laughter, food, wine and song. So I ask, do we accept the intentions of Kellie and Wayne to be wed in holy matrimony today?”
A loud and fun reply came from the 185+ in attendance, “We Do!”
The ceremony was without a doubt very meaningful, emotional and heartfelt. In addition, just as Kellie and Wayne’s own personalities, the event was lifted and humorous at times.
Uncle Patrick delivered a few fun remarks and shared a great story;
“I recall a recent story. A story that struck me in a powerful way.
After marrying his childhood sweetheart and soulmate, a young man began to feel some pressures in marriage and wondered if had made the right decision to marry. He loved his wife. They had known each other most of their lives. They were content. He began to question whether marriage was necessary to give him what he was looking for.
One night he asked his father for advice. Dad’s advice kind of caught him off guard. He said, ‘Son, I’m going to make this really simple for you: marriage … isn’t for you.
Not exactly what the son expected. He was kind of shocked …. Until his dad continued.
Son, You don’t marry to make yourself happy, you marry to make someone else happy. More than that, your marriage isn’t for yourself, you’re marrying for a family. Not just for your mother and I and the in-laws, but for your future children.
Who do you want to help you raise them? Who do you want to influence them? Marriage isn’t for you. It’s not about you. Marriage is about the person you married.”
A true marriage (and true love) is never about you. It’s about the person you love–their wants, their needs, their hopes, and their dreams. Selfishness demands, “What’s in it for me?” while Love asks, “What can I give?”
Kellie … Wayne, I know I’m not alone in saying that you are both givers. We’ve seen you selflessly give to others time and time again. It’s time now to give yourselves to each other.”
Kellie and Wayne held hands for the entire ceremony only to break to welcome their mother’s to the foot of the stage.
“I’d like to invite Kellie and Wayne’s mothers Alice and Kathy to bring the rings forward. Their offering of these rings represents each family’s support .. and symbolizes the joining of the families as one.”
Uncle Patrick continued his officiating duties and recited hand-written vows from both Wayne and Kellie meant for each other. A dramatic song played under the ceremony dialogue;
“I give you Wayne’s words to his beloved Kellie.
Today I consider myself the luckiness man. I consider myself lucky because love was waiting for me all along and that’s what brought us together. How lucky am I to have found you, or should I say ‘lucky that you literally came to find me’!
You have helped me realize what great things are to come for myself and how we can get achieve them together. You are what I’ve been missing. A true-companion. An unwavering team-mate. A faithful and kind partner to bring out the best in me and support me through all that life may lay in my path. You have lifted my spirit, my outlook and my drive to an outstanding level.
Today is just the beginning of our journey in building our legacy as husband and wife. I vow to honor and protect that legacy and keep our love strong. I will fight against anything that tests our bond. I will be your knight, as you are my princess. No matter the obstacles or challenges that may come, I will defend our love, forever.
Please wear this ring as it truly symbolizes my commitment to you and our marriage. I believe our rings look the same because it shows we are equal in this marriage. As my equal, you can trust me with your heart. My respect for you will be everlasting and I will always lift you up and never put you down. We are now a team.
I’m so very proud of us and what we will do together. The future is going to be wonderful.
Today I am the luckiest but we are the greatest. You and me, My Loverface.”
“I give you Kellie’s words to her beloved Wayne.
You are truly my knight in shining armor. I look to you for strength, for you are strong. I look to you for wisdom, for you are wise. With your strength and wisdom, I feel safe and protected. Your softness and patience makes me feel respected. Your touch and warm embrace shows me I am loved. You make me smile always, and laugh every day. When we met, I knew you were special. When you twirled me on the dance floor, I was hooked. After getting to know you, I fell in love.
Wayne, take this ring as a symbol of my love. It represents the laughter and joy we share everyday. It represents our dreams and future together as husband and wife. With this ring I vow to love and honor you all the days of my life. Like the moon and the stars, although beautiful on their own, together will fill the sky with magical and spectacular brilliance.”
Uncle Patrick delivered his closing remarks.
“A wise man said,
“Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.” That wise man … was Albert Einstein.
Wayne, go ahead and take your eyes off of the road for a moment and kiss this pretty girl.
Wayne firmly planted a sweet kiss on Kellie’s lips while he held both sides of her face.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, By the power vested in me here on this day, It’s my honor and pleasure to give you Mr. and Mrs. Wayne and Kellie Kinney.”
The crescendo of audience applause was met with an epic soundtrack and Wayne and Kellie were married! Hands in the air and a quick thank you kiss for Uncle Patrick, they made their way down the stairs of the stage and into the crowd for hugs and kisses.
The crowd made their way towards the dance-floor as Wayne would introduce the first dance for Kellie and himself as husband and wife, “Sunday Morning is our favorite time together. It is all ours. No clients, no gigs, just us on the couch.” Wayne and Kellie would enjoy a fun upbeat freestyle dance to Maroon 5’s acoustic version of “Sunday Morning“.
Kellie’s father Harry took to the dance-floor next to introduce his own dance with his “little girl” but not before telling Wayne’s parents how they raised a fine young man and he was so happy for Kellie today. Harry handed off the microphone and took all of the 4 minute song to dance with Kellie and could be caught singing in her hear. It was special.
Throughout the night food was served in stations. The Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern fare offered chicken, lamb, grape leaves, hummus, olives, grilled vegetables and salads with over baked pizzas. Not to mention the premium bar put everyone in the right state of mind; party time!
Professional video and pictures that were captured will definitely be entertaining to view as everyone in attendance was in their glory at the event; dancing, drinking and eating to their heart’s content.
